Continuing with work on a Joint collaboration piece of Art with Artist’s Penny Sobr,  Ant Dylan Wynn, Nat and the residents of Jimmy’s.

We also brought in the marbling inks again because they’re so popular! I love Angelo’s painting on water, he has a very artistic mentality, he made great collage and now great ideas about marbling..he paints it like he’s creating an italian piece of marino glass!

Its almost like watching a show of ink dancing in front of your eyes, got to quickly catch the elusive image on paper before it disappears !!

We are doing a collage of hands created by the guest’s tracing around theirs and decorating them with some personal marking or images that describes their personality or something that they identify with. The hand designs will then be joined together to create an uplifting inspiring positive piece of art for a segment of wall at Fulbourn Hospital. The rest of the wall will be filled by other contributing artists which should should result in creating a pleasant cheerful environment for the patients there ! Also quite a few of Jimmy’s guest’s have been in Fulbourn so they know what it’a like….

This week we started work on a Joint collaboration piece of Art with Artist’s Penny Sobr  Ant Dylan Wynn and the residents of Jimmy’s.

We are doing a collage of hands created by the guests tracing around theirs and decorating them with some personal marking or images that describes their personality or something that they identify with. The hand designs will then be joined together to create the final art,  which means that if individual’s reach out to one another and join together, we’ll support one another on life’s journey.

Ink Marbling on paper –  with workshop facilitator’s Penny Sobr & Nat.

Its so easy and quick to create wonderful art on paper using marbling inks!
Once one guest had a go and saw the magic like effect that marbling creates, it soon becomes addictive to the visual senses and one wants to keep going and going…what if I just try this colour or move the ink with a stick like this…etc, etc ??? The possibilities are endless! …..Soon had a queue of guests wanting to have a go at dripping, dipping, swirling and shaking !!! All in the name of Art.

Surrealism – unlocking the power of imagination workshop with Penny Sobr & Ant Dylan.

We’ve had fun creating collage portraits with the residents of Jimmy’s Night Shelter.
Some of the creations ended up being a bit cubist and some a bit dada like, everyone expressed great ideas!!

One guy there told us that he felt more relaxed and achieved a sense of release and accomplishment after being able to express himself through creating his collage ! The end result did look a superb cubist piece! ….That’s a job well done…we’re here to hopefully inspire people from all walks of life.

Collage and mask painting workshop with Penny Sobr & Ant Dylan.

Collages made from strips of magazines and newspapers etc can create a really dynamic image ! But not all wanted to make collages that day…some preferred to paint.
One guest wanted to make a painting for his son & daughter of their names in a lovely typeface. Other guest’s want to decorate their rooms with their art or sell it at the local market. Whatever reason they’re all getting some kind of feeling of achievement and fulfilment! Also enjoying the creative process and social interaction!

Texture painting workshop at Jimmy’s was great again with Penny Sobr & Ant Dylan Wynn! The residents came up with great ideas for this style of art! Love the two dimensional trees that went off the edge of the canvas and another creator added music sheets to  making it into a mixed media piece!

The guests at Jimmy’s Homeless Shelter got to test out their creative juices with ‘Pour Painting’ in last weeks Oblique Art workshop..the conclusion was ‘ Great fun with great effects!’
One young lad was too afraid to have a go because he might get it wrong and not like it but nothing is wrong in art!! …and you might just begin to enjoy the creating process..which he ended up doing! People from all walks of life can create something wonderful with this technique even if they’ve never done art art before and declare they can’t draw.
