Cows About Cambridge – Wild in Art

Isn’t it moovellous! Our Cowmmunity Temple installation was at last completed in the Grafton Centre which was part of the Art trail around Cambridge during July & August 2021.

The Temple’s main attraction was the fabulous community cows beautifully decorated by artists Beverley Carpenter and Penny Sobr in collaboration with two local community groups. The Golden cow was created with the help from residents at Manor Care home, the recycled yellow mama cow & baby was made with teens from Abbey People youth club. The purple cow was created by artist Hilary Cox with young people from the Kite Trust.

The rest of the installation was created with Oblique artists, including

Dawn Burford, Karen Kellet and Jamie Ashman.

The non-community cows were auctioned in September raising £257,100 for the charity Break.

Our cows are now enjoying a new life at Manor Care Home and at Abbey People.
