Light art installation

Bright Lights CB4 in Cambridge by Oblique Arts
Pop-up light projections in CB4 Cambridge inspired by the community.

These projections are about the creative brain. A colourful interpretation of circulating ideas and emotions is taken from a series of workshops run by artists with community groups in CB4. The groups are made up of specific individuals who use their brains in very different ways. This project is a exploration of the minds of creative professionals and people living with various mental health difficulties, including dementia. Participants from Rowan Humberstone, Cambridge Art Works, Thrift Walk Studios (Cambridge Art Salon), Cambridge Manor Care Home, Victoria Homes and Winter Comfort took part. The objects and images that they produced have been incorporated into moving image projections that pop-up around the CB4 area, ending with a light installation on Mitcham’s Corner.

Workshops
We wish to bring high quality artwork to a wide audience while being inclusive. It is important to us that the positive changes of the area include representation (voices and images) from those who often lack access to the arts and other cultural activities.
